August 19, 2017— The Doobie Brothers blew like tumble weeds into the desert town of Lancaster, California, to perform a 90 minute set at the Antelope Valley Fair.  Over its 47 year history, the band has managed to retain its two front men, Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnston. Also in the line-up are guitarist John McFee, formerly of Southern Pacific, bassist and harmony vocalist John Cowen, saxophonist Marc Russo, drummer Ed Toth and on the keyboards: Bill Payne.

The Doobies have enjoyed a rich success throughout their reign in the rock-n-roll kingdom with songs such as China Grove, Listen to The Music, and Black Water.   In 2014, the band experienced a resurgence in sales and popularity  when country artists such as Blake Shelton and Sara Evans came together to record some of their top hits on the album Southbound.  The hard-working good-time band from Santa Cruz, California has several more stops to make in the US this year before crossing “the pond” to Europe where they will finish off their 2017 tour.
