Thursday, July 14th, 2016—-Country pop band, Rascal Flatts threw a musical party for fans attending their sell-out show at the Chumash Casino. It was a “sweet 16” so to speak, for the country superstars now in their 16th year performing, with 16 number 1 hits. The stage was set with double drums, double keyboards and banjo which became animated with life as the lights came up and the band took the stage. Enter lead singer , Gary LeVox whose throat is two parts honey, one part helium and 2 canary wings in flight. The band cranked out beloved hits such as “Life is A Highway” , “Bless the Broken Road” and “What Hurts the Most”.
The Grand Ole Opry members veered off the road a bit, displaying their musical prowess with covers such as “Purple Rain”, “Comin in the Air’, with cousin Jay Demarcus at the keyboards offering a generous sampling of Journey’s two hits, “Open Arms”, and “Don’t Stop Believin’”.
With over 40 music awards, this talented musical group’s journey is far from over. They are currently on their Rhythm and Roots tour and will be performing August 3rd on the ABC
TV special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.
